We acknowledge that we are operating and living on the ancestral homelands of the Plains Tribes, including the Lipan Apache, Comanche and Tonkawa. We acknowledge that systematic elimination and forced expulsion of the indigenous peoples of Central Texas enabled the society of today to develop on these lands. We now reside within this society, which was established on these taken lands, at the divestiture and suffering of indigenous peoples and the land itself. We pay respect to the people of the Plains Tribes past, present and future.
